Max Kitchen and Wines

One thing about me is I like to read other people's blogs. So many blogs are so interesting with many nice photo. Soemtimes I can whole day just reading blogs and thinking about the lovely foods that all these floggers are enjoying.

I think if more people can spend more time taking photo about food, discussing about food, going out to eat food, trying many variety of food, writing the blogs about food, and arranging with friends to eat in the many new and nice restaurants, then sure there will be peace on earth. Because everyone so busy eating and doing all that, got no time for fighting a war. Sometimes I think maybe the people start war because they got no food to eat and no internet and no nice restaurant in their hometown. I think the United Nations should study this and see how they can be promoting peace through other method than they do now. Better they exchange recipe than exchange bullet.

I think of all this last 2 nights when I went to a lovely restaurant. Actually I read about this restaurant in other people's blog and they all say that it is a very good place. So I make a booking for a table for me and my friends. And we all really have a good time, and very lovely food.

There were many lovely sounding dishes on the menu, and I hope that I can slowly try all of them one by one. So I start iwth the first dish - a salad with portobello mushroom. It was very delicious - eveyrthing is perfect. But I have no photo because I shy to take a photo in such a nice restaurant.

But after I have a few wines, I no longer shy, so I take a photo of the bread. I think I drunk because the photo a bit senget.

I also take photo of my main course. This is a yellow fin tuna. It is medium, so you can still see inside not yet fully cook. I love it like that - like eating sashimi and grill fish at the same time!

My friend order the Wagyu beef cheeks. I only try a little bit because I don't eat beef. It was very tasty and soft. But he eat so fast that I got no chance to take a photo when the plate is still nice.

After eating that, I was sad that I already too full for dessert. So I only have a coffee. Next time I think I will go jogging before I go to Max for dinner so that I can really attack the dessert!

Now I know why all the floggers love the food cook by Max. He is a very talented chef, and the food is lovely. The portion also quite big and the price is very reasonable. I recommend everybody to go there to try the food. It is very easy to find on Tengkat Tong Shin behind Jalan Alor.

Proud to be Malaysian flogger

Today I am so proud to be Malaysian. Also I am happy to be a flogger so I can tell you all about what I witness today.

Do you remember I was recommending to you to visit D*lish (the place with the nice plastic fork and knife)? Today when I go to shopping to Bangsar Village, I was lucky to visit the charity event which D*lish organise. It is called "D*lish Urban Park and all donation will be send to Kids For Kids.

To make donation, everybody must buy a book of coupons, then you can exchange the coupons for interesting items which I see is mainly sponsor by D*lish. Example, you can decorate a cupcake or buy coffee or buy picnic basket with food.

The decorating cupcake was the popular item there. It cost RM5 per cupcake and you can decorate your own and they give you icing and other decorations to make the cupcake of your dreams. But if you lazy or don't know how to decorate you can also buy the ready made one which is on display - refer to the picture on top.

What I am proud of is you can see that Malaysian people are very caring and giving society. We always take time and trouble to help our fellow Malaysian who are not so fortunate compare to us. We should have more restaurant like D*lish who do good things like this, I ask all of you to show your support to D*lish for making this very good move.

What am I eating?

Sometimes I think I am so lucky I living in Malaysia. Here as our tourism says, "Malaysia truely Asia". In this country, we eat all sorts of foods - Malays, Chinese, Indian, Mat Salleh (western), Mexican, American fast foods. The food can be expensive or cheap, the restaurant can be high class or mamak stall, but there are so many types and choices for everyone. Actually we are truely more than Asia in terms of food is concerned. We are truely the world of food.

Everyday you can eat something new and wonderful. It is really so lovely to know that. On top, you can see a picture of one of my favourite foods as I have put in the list on this flog. It is called char koay teow, or fried rice noodles.

Today, I eat something new and it is something I never eat before. So I take a picture for everyone to see so that they can tell me what it is. What kind of veggie is that? I ask the stall owner, but he only know the chinese name of the veggie. So I don't know how to tell all of you. Can you tell me?

Made in Malaysia by Me

Today I am so happy because it is Saturday. I wait for one whole week for today. So to celebrate Saturday, I usually make a nice breakfast to start the weekend.

But when I open the fridge, I see that there is not much because I don't have time to visit the supermakret. But not to say that I cannot make my breakfast from what is inside the fridge.

So first, I take 2 piece of bread. I use wholemeal because it is more healthy. This is Gardenia brand. One thing good about Gardenia brand is the bread never grow fungus. They must use good ingredients to make the bread to long lasting. For eating with hte bread, I take a slice of cheese. This is Kraft Extra Light brand. I think it is the best Extra Light cheese that I have try before.
But as you know, bread with Kraft Extra Light cheese only is not interesting. One thing I find out myself is that for something to taste nice, it must have many flavour. So I try to make my food got salty, got sweet, got plain, and sometimes got sour and also got chilli. So it is more interesting.

So I was thinking, what will go well with bread (plain) and Kraft Extra Light cheese (salty)? I think these 2 needs something sweet to make it nicer. So I put strawberry jam on the bread.

The taste is very nice because the jam is the low sugar type (so it is a bit sweet and sour), and the red colour make the sandwich look nicer.

I pack the sandwich in a nice plastic bag so I can eat it after I go to jogging later.

Taking Photos

Today I very happy. I remember to take a photo before I start eating. Actually I took 2 photo, but one of them didn't turn out well. Because the fish is black colour, the photo come out looking like shit. But my friend say, "Look only like that, taste more important. The most beautiful photo also no use if the food is not nice." So after I listen to him, I think it is ok to put this picture on my flog.

Because I like eating food, I try and eat healthy food (like fish, rice, veggie, cereal, bread). So today I eat economy rice - rice, fish and veggie. The veggie is ok, it is not overcook like some economy rice restaurants. The fish is very tasty and very fresh, and not smelly even though the photo is not so nice. The fish is grille, so not oily like fried fish. The kuah is quite sour tasting and it is because got asam jawa (tamarind) and tomatoe in it. With the chili padi and onions, wah - really shiok lah.

So the picture is not nice, but the taste is nice. Eat more fish - it is good for your health.

D*lish

Today I try a new restaurant. D*lish is a new restaurant and it is at Bangsar Village (old building) and MidValley Megamall. Actually D*lish is open by the same people who open Delicious (also a restaurant at Bangsar Village 2, and it use to be the place where D*lish is now) and Ms Read (the clothes store for those fat people).

D*lish is suppose to be the cheap version of Delicious. You have to self service and choose your food from the counter. They have sandwich, salad, soup, cakes, and some rice and noodle dishes. But actually I don't think it is cheap. Why? Because the amount of food is less compare to Delicious, so of course should be cheaper. Also they don't wash some of the plates and cultery because for some dishes they only give you plastic container and plastic fork and knife.

I ate the potatoe salad and I also have a cafe latte. All together about RM18. I was actually thinking not very worth it at first. Some more at first, I was thinking they don't give me a proper fork and knife (see the picture), but they give me a nice plate. But actually it was a very good deal because the fork and knife was very high quality!
I can cut my potatoe salad and salad leaves very easily and smoothly. So, I ta-pau the fork and knife home, so that I can use them again at home. They give you a nice high quality serviette also, so you can use that to clean and wrap the fork and knife.

How the food taste? OKlah, I think it is OK only. The potatoe was a bit overboil, but the coffee is very good. The staffs are also very nice and friendly. But I think the best thing about the place is the very high quality plastic fork and knife. I recommend you go there and try it for yourself. If you also ta-pau the fork and knife, remember that I recommend it to you!

Why I write this blog

People ask me - why you write this blog? Acutally I also not very sure. I not good at writing English, also not good at taking photo compare to all the other nice food blogs for Malaysia food (you can see I have put some links to them on this blog).

But one thing about me, I like to eat. So I eat lah. And I write about what I like to eat. What I don't like to eat, I don't like to write - no point! Because if I don't like, I don't feel passion. When I don't feel passion, I think what I write is not interesting. I don't understand some floggers - why they want to write about things that they eat but don't like? Life is too short to waste about the things we don't like. Better concentrate on what you like, so that we can share with other people all those things which makes me happy.
My dear readers, you can see that I like very much the thing that I am pointing in the photo - bacon.
